News Highlights from 2005
  • CSTD's 2005 Knowledge Exchange Conference Prospero's VP Learning Solutions, Lorne Novolker, spoke with Louise Leone from Imperial Oil at the CSTD Knowledge Exchange Conference in Toronto, Canada November 8. They presented the Challenges and Lessons learned during Exxon Mobil's global e-Learning initiative.
  • Fortune 100 Oil Company ( French) – Prospero is developing the 22-hour French version of the Global Site Attendant E-Learning program for a Fortune 100 oil company -- and managing the production. The English edition was completed by Prospero in the summer of 2005 and showcased at the recent National Retailer's Conference in September 2005.
  • Bata in Spanish Prospero has recently completed the production of the Spanish version of the Bata Retail Sales and Customer Service e-learning program for launch in Latin America. In 2004, Bata partnered with Prospero to adapt its 5-step Customer Service Program for an e-Learning platform.
  • Fleming College Fleming College and Prospero continue their partnership with the design and development of a one-day workshop and web-based course. The topic is Pumps Training for the Ontario Ministry of the Environment's Water Well Technician Certification program.
  • RBC Homeline Royal Bank has selected Prospero to design and develop a leading- edge bilingual e-Learning solution to train new lenders.
  • TD Bank Financial Group TD Bank Financial Group continues to partner with Prospero for their learning strategy and custom learning requirements. Prospero is currently work on and managing five projects.
  • TD Canada Trust Prospero provides TD Canada Trust with a combination of complete project teams as well as individual resources to compliment internal teams. Prospero presently has seven Associates working on various projects with TD Canada Trust.
  • Purolator– Purolator, Canada's premier courier company, selected Prospero's Learningworks™ LMS for its classroom learning initiatves and online testing. The system has now been implemented and is undergoing UAT.
  • Suncor Energy Products Inc. Suncor has partnered with Prospero to design and develop a blended e-learning solution for their Retail Training team to train new Sunoco Retailers. The goal of this project is to continue providing new Retailers with access to consistent and comprehensive top-quality training while reducing the time a store Retailer must commit to facilitating the training.
  • ISPI International in Vancouver, April 15th Lorne Novolker, Prospero’s VP Learning Solutions and Louise Leone, Manager Performance Support, Exxon Mobil, spoke on the challenges and lessons learned through designing and developing the first global e-learning initiative for Exxon Mobil Fuels Marketing division. The interactive case study described the business and performance drivers for their first global e-Learning initiative, how diversity, culture, and language were dealt with, and some of the challenges encountered and lessons learned.
  • Royal Bank – Royal Bank has selected Prospero to produce a 90 minute simulation-based e-Learning solution for Mortgage Renewal. The hands-on, interactive web course will teach RBC Lending personnel how to Renew an existing mortgage for a Personal client, following the process from end-to-end. This new course will become part of the Personal Market Credit Program.
  • Purolator – Purolator has selected Prospero's Learningworks™ as its new LCMS for classroom and web-based learning initiatves. Work is currently underway to optimize both the Learningworks™ core application and the Quizworks testing module for Purolator’s business requirements.
  • Ontario's Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) – MNR has chosen Prospero to update and add new functionality to its certified training course in Land Management. This Authorware-based multimedia CBT is a hybrid CDROM that contains approximately 80 hours worth of standard classroom instruction materials. The CDROM communicates with the Ministry's network to record log-ons, bookmarks, and quiz results, and to retrieve updates to the content.
  • Conference of Board of Canada – On March 10th, Lorne Novolker, Prospero’s VP Learning Solutions presented jointly with Connie Karlsson, Manager, Instructional Design & Measurement, TD Bank Financial Group, and Deborah Williamson, Manager, Professional Retail Development, Toyota University, at the Conference Board of Canada’s Canadian Center for Learning and Development Conference in Toronto. They discussed new ways to collect, track, interpret and disseminate Level 2 evaluation data. Through the enhancements they discussed, gaps between knowledge and performance can be identified, and cost savings achieved by ensuring that the right people are receiving the right training. Case studies from TD Financial Group and Toyota Canada were presented to highlight how innovative measures have been applied by Canadian leading organizations to maximize value in Level 2 evaluations.
  • CSTD Durham – On February 10, Lorne Novolker, Prospero’s VP Learning Solutions, and Louise Leone, Manager Performance Support, Exxon Mobil, gave a presentation to the CSTD Durham Chapter members in Oshawa. They discussed the challenges and lessons learned through designing and developing the first global e-learning initiative for Exxon Mobil's Fuels Marketing division. They explained the business and performance drivers behind the choice of audience and subject matter. They also demonstrated how diversity, culture, and language were dealt with in this long and complex project.
